Headshot of Attorney Kathy M. Anderson

Kathy M. Anderson, Esq.

Founding Partner

Malta / Newport Beach Office

kathy@frainkly.com

Kathy Anderson (she/her/hers) brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge and perspective to the practice of law, blending clinical precision with legal strategy to advise clients with clarity, empathy, and strength - touting a career that spans more than three decades of trusted leadership in medicine and nearly two decades in law.

As an attorney licensed by the California State Bar since 2007, Kathy’s legal practice has focused on regulatory defense, healthcare law, medical-legal consulting, and complex matters at the intersection of bodily autonomy, privacy, and ethics at a private boutique firm. Her rare combination of credentials had made her a trusted partner for physicians, clinics, wellness startups, and professionals facing regulatory or reputational risk.

In recent years, Kathy has expanded her practice to include legal frameworks surrounding artificial intelligence, especially as they relate to algorithmic bias, privacy, and liability. Her background makes her exceptionally well-positioned to counsel on AI in diagnostics, digital therapeutics, and automation in clinical care.  She is also deeply engaged in the evolving legal and ethical issues of electronic currency and digital finance, including blockchain regulation, cryptocurrency compliance, and privacy implications for healthcare and financial services. Her long-standing interest in digital systems, combined with her medical and legal acumen, allows her to help clients navigate uncharted regulatory waters with both caution and vision.

Frustrated with the inefficiencies of most top law firms, Kathy co-founded Frainkly with a modern, tech-aware lens—offering forward-thinking guidance to clients navigating both traditional legal problems and the legal unknowns of innovation. At Frainkly, Kathy leads with a calm, analytical presence, balancing bold advocacy with thoughtful risk assessment. She is passionate about client education and ethical integrity, and she’s especially adept at helping clients understand the nuances of sensitive legal issues with clarity and dignity.

Prior to co-founding Frainkly, Kathy worked at a private boutique law firm while maintaining a longstanding OB/GYN practice in Orange County, where she served a diverse patient population with a commitment to compassionate care and education. While she has retired from the medical field, her experience as a physician gives her clients in healthcare, biotech, wellness, and adjacent sectors a critical edge—especially when navigating licensing boards, administrative hearings, healthcare litigation, or business formation.

Kathy also has served as a legal educator, teaching both Women and the Law and Health Law at Whittier Law School prior to its closing.

Outside of her profession, Kathy is a lifelong advocate for health and nutrition, women’s rights, ethical care, and education. She enjoys mentoring young professionals in law, engaging in community health outreach, and participating in culturally focused legal discussions. Fluent in English and Farsi, she’s also passionate about bridging cultural gaps in access to justice. When not working, she enjoys coastal walks, culinary exploration, and meaningful time with her family.
